Hebrews 10 - Nathanael

Wow! Such powerful descriptions of God's mercy and salvation and the hope and privilege we have in Christ!

Day after day every priest stands and performs his religious duties; again and again he offers the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins.
Hebrews 10:11
Religion is powerless to change our help us.

let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.
Hebrews 10:22
A command really - draw near to God with confidence because of Christ's work and us trusting in him.

Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.
Hebrews 10:23
Again an urging command: persevere

And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
Hebrews 10:24-25
More commands: spur one another on, don't stop meeting together

If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God.
Hebrews 10:26-27
A sober warning against deliberate sin.

You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.
Hebrews 10:‬36 NIV
A call to stay strong in following God!
