God's second set of promises to Abram
All the land that you see I will give to you and your offspring forever. I will make your offspring like the dust of the earth, so that if anyone could count the dust, then your offspring could be counted.
Genesis 13:15-16 NIV
There are two main parts to this promise: the land and his offspring.
God promised Abraham all the lamb's that he could see in every direction. Good also promised that his offspring would be like the first of the earth: so many that they can't be counted.
Both of these promises probably seemed impossible for Abraham at multiple times: the land was ruled by many different and powerful kings and he didn't have any children.
