Paul continues in this chapter with specific and practical instructions to children, parents, slaves and masters. He then shifts to the spiritual world and the need for continual prayer.
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
Ephesians 6:12
There us a real battle that wages around us that we often don't recognize. We need to be aware, prepared and active I prayer.
And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord's people.
Ephesians 6:18 NIV
The key to succeeding in life in all dimensions, physical, spiritual and emotional, is prayer. Not generic wishes thrown out to an unknown entity, but a conversation with the God who loves us, has created us, died for us, has the power to change anything and is with us. Coming to him regularly and being dependant on him and acknowledging him in all our ways is key.
