Jesus commanded Peter, "Put your sword away! Shall I not drink the cup the Father has given me?"

While Jesus was praying in the garden before this point, he had asked for the cup to be taken away. But he submitted his will to God and decided that he would do God's will and not his own. So at this point he was firmly decided to go to the cross
