This is a powerful passage and a clear statement that Jesus makes claiming to be God, taking on the name of God and claiming to have been around before Abraham.
Not sure how Jesus hid himself, if it was supernatural or just that he ran out from there. The people wanting to stone him probably didn't have big rocks suitable for stoning right there since they were in the temple court. So they may have had to step outside to get some and then he could have slipped away.
