Acts 8 - Nathanael

More excitement but with trouble as well.

And Saul approved of their killing him. On that day a great persecution broke out against the church in Jerusalem, and all except the apostles were scattered throughout Judea and Samaria.

There are times of favor and times of persecution and difficulty. Though we often want to avoid the difficulty, God is still ay work accomplishing his propose as we see in the next section. 

Those who had been scattered preached the word wherever they went. 
Acts 8:4
Though persecution isn't pleasant, it forced the church to disperse and spread the good news. Sometimes we need to be pushed out of our comfort zones! 

because the Holy Spirit had not yet come on any of them; they had simply been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. Then Peter and John placed their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.  
Acts 8:16-17
They had seen and heard about the holy spirit but had not yet received. 

When they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord suddenly took Philip away, and the eunuch did not see him again, but went on his way rejoicing.

exciting times!
