Chapter 1 focused on the sins of those who don't follow God and chapter 2 follows up with the sins of those who are following God.
You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge another, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things.
Romans 2:1
Two big sins of religious persons: hypocrisy and pride
What often follows with those sins is a judging and condemning attitude whereby we look down on other people.
One of the human conditions is being able to see others failures and faults and not our own. We tend to judge ourselves by our good intentions and others by negative external appearance.
In humility we must see that we are sinful just like those we judge so that our attitude can be one of mercy.
All who sin apart from the law will also perish apart from the law, and all who sin under the law will be judged by the law.
Romans 2:12
People are guilty before God whether they know his laws or not.
No, a person is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is circumcision of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the written code. Such a person's praise is not from other people, but from God.
Romans 2:29 NIV
We who are gentiles can become spiritual Jews as by God's grace we seek Jesus and follow him and seek God's favor and not man's.
