Genesis 17 - Nathanael

Then the Lord said to Moses, "Write this on a scroll as something to be remembered and make sure that Joshua hears it, because I will completely blot out the name of Amalek from under heaven."
Exodus 17:14 NIV
God wanted Moses to write this event down so Joshua would know about it and remember it.
This is interesting in several ways.
First it shows a way of God about passing on things from one generation to the next - whether among his people or in a family.
Second it was a reminder to Joshua for later when he was leading the people into battle. The battle belongs to the Lord! If we honor and focus on God before the enemy or problem, then God will work and bring the victory.
Both of these lessons are valuable for us today as leaders and as parents!
