There, above the cover between the two cherubim that are over the ark of the covenant law, I will meet with you and give you all my commands for the Israelites.
The ark of the covenant was the place where God would come and meet with Moses and others. His very presence was there.
See that you make them according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.
Exodus 25:22, 40 NIV
The ark and sanctuary were laid out exactly as God had showed Moses - the pattern of what existed in heaven.
What is terrific is that we can meet daily with God and that he puts his Holy Spirit in us and we are now the temple of God! What a privilege!
