That is why I am suffering as I am. Yet this is no cause for shame, because I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him until that day.
2 Timothy 1:12 NIV

Paul was in prison because he had been preaching about the good news of Jesus. In such a situation there would be plenty of time to question if he was doing the right thing and why he was suffering for doing good. Hardships can test us to the core of our being. But Paul had an anchor for his soul - he knows Jesus who he has believed in. He knows him personally! He knows him intimately. He speaks to him regularly. And he has seen and knows that Jesus has the power to take care of him in all situations.
Thank you Jesus!
