Acts 3, 4, 5 and 6 - Jason

Finally caught up! I love reading about the Acts of the apostles and how through faith in Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit they spread the gospel by loving one another and doing powerful works to help other people. The leaders were opposing them and charging them to not speak in the name of Jesus, but at this time the Lord granted favor to his people in Jerusalem and they were not being killed, yet.

In Chapter 6, they appointed men to be servants of the Greek widows in the city. The men were going to serve tables, but their qualifications were high! I believe that God has high standards and qualifications for all his people, not just the highest leaders. Stephen was one man who was appointed and he will be killed by the Jewish leaders through false accusations. The apostles were also bold in pointing out the sins of the religious leaders who had rejected Jesus who is the Messiah. The Scripture shows that Jesus is the one True God who came and died for the salvation of mankind. He rose again in power and we have salvation through faith in Him, and He gives us the power to live in Him. God I pray for your Holy Spirit to fill me and my family, and use us through faith in the name of Jesus to do the works that you have prepared for us to do.
