It is interesting how Jesus not only spoke in parables but also figuratively. He was wanting his disciples to seek out the truth and ask when they didn't understand.
"I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."
John 16:33 NIV
Jesus certainly does bring peace in the middle of the storms of life!
