Jesus is talking with his disciples after the last supper and describing to them what is going to happen and what he wants them to do. He promised to give them peace and prepare them for the difficulty of his death and resurrection. They will be his witnesses in the world. Today, the Lord gives us his Holy Spirit more to do the work of ministry and be witnesses for him in the world to the people we meet and interact with. This is why it is important for us to be salt and light. God, please help me to trust in you more, and ask you for the big things that I think can't or won't be done. Please give me a stronger desire to see your kingdom grow--I want to see and participate in more people believing in Jesus and being saved from their sins.
