I love how in John 4 Jesus speaks with a Samaritan woman at the public well. He reveals many things to her as he has a short conversation with her that begins naturally talking about water. Then it shifts to talking about receiving the Spirit and salvation from Jesus. The woman gets really excited and tells all her friends in the town that this could be the Messiah they had heard about and were waiting for. I think it's interesting that they were waiting for the Messiah, similar to the Jews, even though this woman was not particularly religious, or it seems like she did not live a devout lifestyle. Nonetheless, many of the people believed in Jesus. Lord I pray that I will always believe in your words, and be ready for the return of Jesus. Help me to look for the signs of what is coming, and be ready to receive what you have to give.
