Romans 16 - Nathanael

One thing is clear by reading Romans 16 is that Paul was a people person - he knew a lot of people by name and shared relationships with them.

I urge you, brothers and sisters, to watch out for those who cause divisions and put obstacles in your way that are contrary to the teaching you have learned. Keep away from them.
Romans 16:17
Though contrary to some expectations, there are some people we should avoid - here those who are causing divisions and putting obstacles in peoples paths that are contrary to the teaching they received.
The goal isn't being friendly to all. To those who we are reaching out to, to them we become all things to all people. But to those who come into the church and start causing problems, then the need is to protect the flock.

Everyone has heard about your obedience, so I rejoice because of you; but I want you to be wise about what is good, and innocent about what is evil.
Romans 16:19 NIV
Obedience to Christ is commendable. Our focus should be on what is right and we should stay away from evil.
