This statement reminds me of the importance of remembering that we are sinful and how much we have been forgiven. The truth is that we have all been forgiven a lot. The problem is that we forget and start to feel self righteous like the Pharisee and then our love for God declines.
Father God, help me to always remember the depth of my sinfulness and how much you have forgiven me. Your love for me is overwhelming and I thank you and I love you!
