Luke Chapter 9 - Jing

The disciples were panic when the great storm hit their little boat, even when they are physically with Jesus. Jesus calmed the storm and rebuked them "where is your faith". Out of human nature, we tend to loose sight and be easily intimidated in the midst of raging waters. May we always remember that Jesus is with us, and He has the power to calm the storm.

Luke 9 also talks about the different reactions from the crowds and the parable of seeds. For the seed fell along the path, the birth come and eat them. The people of the region of the Gerasenes asked Jesus to leave them when they saw the miracle how Jesus healed a demon-possessed man. On the opposite side, a crowd welcomed him and expected his coming. in this crowd, there are common people are with great faith. They believed in Jesus' power of healing even before they see miracles. What a great faith.

I may take for granted that the disciples have stronger faith and more mature than common people like us, for they are exposed to Jesus' teach and live physically with Jesus. But faith is simple as Child-like belief. Regardless of our background or the past, anyone can come to faith. But even when our faith is as small as mustard seed, God can still choose you for His work, just like the 12 disciples. And throughout the journey, He will grow our faith more and more.
