Luke 11 - Nathanael

If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!"
Luke 11:13
I love this verse! God is a living father to us who gives "much more" than even the best and most loving father on earth!

But some of them said, "By Beelzebul, the prince of demons, he is driving out demons." Others tested him by asking for a sign from heaven.
Luke 11:15-16
Here Jesus is facing some opposition. People are calling him evil and challenging him to prove himself.

As the crowds increased, Jesus said, "This is a wicked generation. It asks for a sign, but none will be given it except the sign of Jonah.
Luke 11:29
Jesus however refuses to give into a negative challenge. He demonstrates his love and power to those who believe not to those who challenge him.

One of the experts in the law answered him, "Teacher, when you say these things, you insult us also."
Luke 11:45 NIV
Jesus has some quite harsh words for the religious people who think that they are righteous. He doesn't back down but points out clearly their hypocrisy.
