I thought the question about fasting was interesting. Jesus said, "Can you make the wedding guests fast while the bridegroom is with them?" This signals that there is something special happening while Jesus is there. He also talks about the new wine and a new garment--which seems to be a symbol of the new covenant that God is making with his people through Jesus Christ. Some of the religious people were trying to get the followers of Christ to follow some old traditions and hold to the Old Testament laws, but Jesus was doing something new while at the same time fulfilling the old covenant with Moses and Israel. I want to understand more about the new covenant with Jesus and what are the things that God says he will do, and what are the things that the Lord calls me to do as part of the covenant.
