Matthew 19 - Nathanael

Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."  When he had placed his hands on them, he went on from there.
Matthew 19:14‭-‬15
Jesus loved children and loved to bless them. I  that society children were not esteemed but Jesus lived and valued people of all ages. Children also model humility and dependence on God by their nature.

"All these I have kept," the young man said. "What do I still lack?"  Jesus answered, "If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me."
Matthew 19:20‭-‬21 NIV
On of my favorite interactions that Jesus has. He always is leading people to a heart relationship with God as opposed to an external one. The man had completed the external regulations but his heart was tied to his money. Jesus loved him and wanted more for him than empty tradition. He wanted a real life relationship  four him with the God of the universe who loves him and wants to be his father!

  1. It seems like in our society today children get a lot of special attention and elderly people do not get treated well.
